Male carers speaking out
I always feel so privileged to meet such amazing people in my job. Every assignment is different but without fail people invite me into their homes and open up to me about their lives. This assignment, for Action East Devon, was no different. I was asked to photograph and interview three male carers about their experience of caring. Male carers are a large yet mostly hidden group and Action East Devon are trying to make more people aware of the issues male carers face so they can be more supported in society and their workplace. Each of the men I spoke to had a lot to say on the subject and their experience of caring and left me with a lot of thoughts on what I would do in their situations. Thank you to John, Jason and Anthony.
